The oldest coins of Russia
Trade relations in Ancient Russia emanated entirely from foreign coins, first East European, and then West European. Among the variety of dirhams and denarii there are also such rare and unique coins as money of princes of Rurikovich. The first coin of this kind was discovered already in the distant 1792, among other pendants to the icon, which was located in one of the churches of the city of Kiev.
Not so long ago, about 50 years ago, that for a numismatic business is essentially a short period of time, coins of Russian princes made of silver and gold began to be discovered. They were not of the best quality, so they were taken for very similar Byzantine coins. Continue reading
Numismatic collection storage
The first problem that a numismatist faces when storing her collection is protection against thieves, because, as a rule, the collection itself is more valuable than each of its individual exhibits. It is not always safe to keep it at home, however, many people do just that, installing hidden and heavy safes. It is much easier to insure the collection against theft and deposit it in a specialized service for the storage of valuable things, which are currently very diverse.

Coin cleaning rules
No matter what metal coins are made of, there are a number of general rules that must be observed when cleaning their surface from contamination.
In no case do not immediately dry-clean the coin. Their surface is usually not evenly polluted, and the reagent can react with the metal in areas where there is less dirt, while other areas will still need to be cleaned. Therefore, the mechanical cleaning of the coin is first applied.
