Features storage collections of coins and stamps

Among other types of collecting, collecting coins is among the most complex and costly. Initially, the collection begins with a small number of valuable items, which quickly increases over time. As a result, you will have to move them from place to place and look for more convenient methods of preserving the collection.

Of course, if you are a beginner coin collector, then you should be aware of some of the nuances of their proper storage. After all, money, like stamps, requires special attention. This approach is due to the fact that over time, coins in a wet environment can oxidize or plaque appears on them. Therefore, in parallel with the collection of coins, it is advisable to look at special packaging for their storage, since ordinary cardboard boxes or glass jars are not able to preserve your collection. And long-term storage in such a container may lead to the loss of such values.

Naturally, for the storage of coins it is preferable to purchase a safe of II-III class of burglar resistance. A product of this quality is able to protect valuables in case of fire. However, a reliable way to store the collection is to rent a cell in the bank.

In any case, the coins should be in folders and albums, costing about 5-10% of the collection price. Albums can have changing sheets or have a fixed number of sheets. Along with this, cardboard coin holders with transparent windows are particularly popular. After such storage, selling coins in St. Petersburg will be much easier, since they will be in good condition.

Fans of collecting postage stamps should also pay attention to their storage conditions, since these items are quite fragile collection items. It should be borne in mind that failure to comply with measures for their preservation may lead to the complete destruction of the entire collection or significantly reduce the cost of stamps. Significantly affect the safety of these products can humidity, temperature, light and their position.

The ideal temperature of the premises for postage stamps will be 15-20 degrees, and the humidity will reach 50-65%. If you decide to buy stamps for your collection, then it is recommended to store them in dark places, for example, in special cabinets. Also seriously should be approached to airing their collection items.
